Our professional staff at Orleans Convalescent Home includes
a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered
Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurses Aides, a
Licensed Social Worker, and a Registered Nutritionist who works
closely with our Dietary Supervisor.
Physicians must be secured prior to admission. We can provide
you with a list of physicians who have admitting privileges
to our facility or if your physician practices in the area
he or she is welcome to apply for privileges with review by
our Medical Director.
There is a range of services, which may be obtained but are
not included in the daily rate. Some of these include physical,
occupational and speech therapy, dental services, pharmaceutical
and podiatric services.
Activities
Our Activities Directors at Orleans Convalescent Home work hard
all the year round to provide stimulating and fun activities
and special events for our residents. A calendar of events is
posted monthly and each week residents receive a daily activity
schedule. Activities include everything from trivia and spelling
bees, our version of the popular Wheel of Fortune game, exercise
class, the Rocking Chair Rhythm Band to weekly devotional services.
At Orleans Convalescent Home we recognize that the whole person
cannot be cared for without stimulation of the body and mind
and most of all some fun!
Barbara DeTraglia, assistant Activites Director and Irene Miller, Activities
Director work together to arrange for daily activities and
musical events for the residents of Orleans Convalescent Home.
They are assisted by a troupe of fabulous volunteers whose
musical and artistic talents, caring spirits and enthusiasm
are unequalled. Many of our volunteers became acquainted with
O.C.H. when a family member was staying here with us. We hope
that you will come to visit us soon. If you are in the area,
please feel free to stop in and see for yourself what O.C.H.
is all about.
Dining
Meals at Orleans Convalescent are home-cooked and
delicious. Residents may eat in the dining room or be served
in a favorite sitting area in one’s own room. Resident’s
who require assistance with meals will receive the help of
a Certified Nurse's Aide while dining. It is very important
to us that our residents receive high quality food and be
treated with dignity at meal times. During the summer months
we host a twice monthly cook-out in the back yard with traditional
grill foods and salads much enjoyed by our residents and their
guests.
